ALER moderates session on renewable energy investment opportunities at the Mozambique–EU Business Forum 2026
On 10th June, Mayra Pereira (ALER President) moderated the session “Overview of Investment Opportunities on Renewable Energy in Mozambique” as part of the Mozambique–EU Business Forum 2026, held in Maputo. The session focused on investment opportunities in renewable energy, grid infrastructure, and energy access solutions.
Opening the session, Mayra Pereira highlighted the importance of turning the sector’s potential into tangible results: “This session is more than a presentation of projects. It is a call to action. An invitation to transform plans into investments, investments into infrastructure, and infrastructure into real impact on people’s lives.”
The panel brought together key institutions from Mozambique’s energy sector – including EDM, FUNAE, HCB, GMNK and AMER – to share insights on ongoing projects and opportunities to accelerate investment in power generation, transmission, distribution, and off-grid solutions.
The energy-focused sessions at the Mozambique–EU Business Forum, coordinated and co-organised by ALER and AMER in partnership with the European programme GET.invest, provided a platform for dialogue among public institutions, investors, companies, and development partners. Held ahead of RENMOZ 2026, these sessions served as a preview of the event, highlighting the main projects and investment opportunities in Mozambique’s energy sector.
