ALER participates in high-level events, institutional meetings and strategic Initiatives in Angola
ALER strengthened its presence in Angola through an extensive agenda of participation in high-level events, institutional meetings, and strategic initiatives, further consolidating its role as a cooperation platform and promoter of the country’s energy transition.
During its visit, ALER took part in several strategic engagements, including the 2nd International Conference on Energy and Water – MINEA 2026, where ALER’s Operations Director, Pedro Clemente, joined the panel discussion on “Public Policies and Investment”.
In his intervention, he highlighted the importance of an integrated approach to the sector, bringing together public policies, regulatory frameworks, project development, and investment mobilisation. In this context, he also stressed that energy should be regarded as a key driver of economic, industrial, and social development, supported by strong institutional and cross-sector coordination.
This participation follows ALER’s presence, at the beginning of May, at several strategic events and institutional meetings in the country, namely the AO-EU Lobito Corridor Business Forum 2026 and the Meeting with Portuguese Companies in Angola, strengthening dialogue with both the public and private sectors and promoting investment opportunities (learn more here).
ALER also met with Angola’s Secretary of State for Climate Action, Nascimento Soares, with discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the areas of climate action and energy transition. Opportunities were identified to consolidate the country’s progress in areas such as carbon markets, institutional capacity building, and legal and regulatory frameworks. As Coordinator of the CPLP Energy and Climate Thematic Commission, ALER also presented cooperation initiatives aimed at strengthening coordination among Portuguese-speaking countries and enhancing their participation in relevant international forums.
Through this on-the-ground engagement, ALER reaffirms its commitment to supporting Angola in building a more dynamic, inclusive, and investment-oriented energy ecosystem, promoting solutions that contribute to universal energy access, economic development, and the country’s growing role at regional and international level.
