ALER takes part in the 9th Lusophone Cluster for Climate Transparency Seminar in Maputo

This week, in addition to organising and participating in RENMOZ in Europe, ALER strengthened its regional cooperation efforts by taking part in the 9th Seminar of the Lusophone Cluster for Climate Transparency, held from 17th to 20th March in Maputo, Mozambique.

Under the theme "From NDC transparency to effective implementation: monitoring, projections and Article 6 as vectors of climate ambition", the seminar brought together representatives from Portuguese-speaking countries to enhance capacities in the preparation and monitoring of NDCs and BTRs under the Paris Agreement.

ALER was represented by Micas Noa Cumbana, Member of the Board, with the aim of identifying areas of collaboration with the Lusophone Cluster, particularly in strengthening the energy-climate nexus, capacity building, knowledge production and support to energy transition processes across Portuguese-speaking countries.

ALER’s participation reinforces the Association’s commitment to Portuguese-speaking countries cooperation, to integrating energy within climate agendas, and to fostering synergies between governments, civil society and the private sector. This commitment has been materialised through the CPLP Thematic Commission on Energy and Climate, coordinated by ALER, as well as strategic initiatives such as the CPLP Energy and Climate Week and the 2030 Cooperation Roadmap.
