ALER promotes strategic coordination for COP30 in technical workshop
In parallel with the CPLP Energy and Climate Week Colloquium, the Technical Workshop for a coordinated approach by CPLP countries at COP30 was held today behind closed doors — a strategic meeting that brought together government representatives, national focal points, technical partners, and multilateral entities in a dedicated space for dialogue and alignment ahead of COP30, to be held in Belém do Pará (Brazil).
Organised by ALER, the session fostered an in-depth discussion on global climate agendas, highlighting priority actions and opportunities for cooperation among Portuguese-speaking countries.
The main objective of the workshop is to strengthen the presence and voice of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) on the world’s leading stage for climate action — which, for the first time, will take place in a Portuguese-speaking country.
As part of the CPLP Energy and Climate Week, taking place in Maputo until 24th October, this technical meeting represents another firm step toward building a joint, informed and strategic approach by Portuguese-speaking countries in the global climate arena.
With COP30 on the horizon, the CPLP countries once again clearly demonstrate their intention to play a prominent role in climate negotiations.
