AMAP Project promotes private sector consultation workshop in Mozambique

The consortium led by ALER, under the AMAP (Africa Mini-Grid Market Acceleration Programme), held yesterday in Maputo a workshop to present and validate the document “Development of Mini-Grids in Mozambique: A Guide for Investors and Developers”, aimed at the private sector.

The guide systematises the key elements of the Off-Grid Energy Access Regulation, addressing concession procedures, tariffs and mini-grid interconnection — essential aspects for the viability of investments in this market segment.

The morning was dedicated to the 3rd Meeting of the AMAP Project Steering Committee, where the project’s main deliverables were validated with public institutions. In the afternoon, the workshop integrated the meeting of the Mini-Grid Subcommittee, as part of the preparations for the Bi-Annual Off-Grid Energy Forum, to be held on 27th November in Maputo.

A significant step forward in promoting sustainable, private-sector-led investment in off-grid energy in Mozambique.
