CPLP Energy and Climate Week continues in Maputo with technical training sessions
The Capacity Building initiative on Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change for the Energy Sector is currently underway and will continue until tomorrow. This activity is facilitated by GIZ and GET.transform, in partnership with ALER, within the scope of the Long-Term Energy Planning (LTEP) Capacity Building Program for Mozambique’s Energy Sector.
This training, prepared by the Aerthhydral Collective, Alisios Corporation and the World Meteorological Organization, focuses on integrating climate change into energy planning, strengthening national capacities for a resilient, sustainable, and climate-aligned energy transition.
The objective is to equip Mozambican institutions with tools and skills to incorporate climate projections, greenhouse gas emissions, and resilience assessments into the planning and operation of the national energy system — ensuring a robust, sustainable transition aligned with the Energy Transition Strategy (2023–2050) and national commitments (NDC, LT-LEDS).
The training takes place at Camões – Portuguese Cultural Center, with the support of AICEP – Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency and the Embassy of Portugal in Mozambique.
