DGRNE promotes validation workshop for the National Sustainable Energy Investment Plan

The Directorate-General for Natural Resources and Energy (DGRNE) of São Tomé and Príncipe, through its Energy Directorate, will promote the Validation Workshop for the National Sustainable Energy Investment Plan (PNIES) on 20th November 2025, from 09:00am to 1:45pm (São Tomé time). The event will take place in the Conference Room of the Brazil Training Centre STP and marks the final stage of the ongoing consultancy for the development of the plan, carried out with the technical support of the consulting firms ThirdWay Partners and puREsource.

The workshop aims to validate the strategic recommendations of the PNIES, define the next steps for its implementation and discuss innovative climate financing instruments with potential application in the country. The session will also present the pillars of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness Proposal.

The DGRNE highlights that the active participation of stakeholders across the sector is essential for the completion and validation of this planning instrument, which is considered fundamental for the energy future of São Tomé and Príncipe.
